The Admiral’s Quarters – Lovely room at the front of the house with a queen four-poster and high ceilings. Great for romance!
The most traditional of our rooms, the Snow Baby, is named after Peary’s daughter Marie who was the first Caucasian child born above the Arctic Circle. Queen bed, high ceilings, reading chairs and lots of light!
Spacious premium queen, the Inuit has lots of windows, a cozy gas stove and its own staircase! Very popular with our guests who bring a lot of stuff as it has a large walk-in closet!
The Jo is our coziest room towards the back of the house with a lovely sloped ceiling and comfortable King brass bed. We don’t recommend it though if you’re over 6′ tall!
The Henson is our superior queen room- light-filled and spacious with gas stove, two wing chairs for reading or relaxing and whirlpool in the tiled bathroom.
Contemporary decor and antique furniture provide the Pathfinder with a unique ambience which is at the same time cozy, romantic but with plenty of space. A favorite with many of our guests.
Our most popular room, the very private North Pole, is a room for all seasons. Let the cool summer breezes waft over you as you lie in the high King bed or sit by the warmth of the gas stove as you watch the birds and squirrels prepare for winter.

We just got home from a weekend of snowmobiling and I will say at first I was very skeptical of the whole bed and breakfast idea, both myself and my boyfriend are big fans of privacy. However I have been made a believer that they are 100 times more inviting than any hotel. I am a very picky person and I require things to be a certain way in order to be comfortable and for once I have found a place that lives up to my standards. After arriving at the Admiral Peary House I went through our gorgeous room(we stayed in The North Pole) with a fine tooth comb and I could not find a speck of dirt or dust. When I say the place is clean I mean it. Even above the doors and in the corner of the shower was clean.
But all in all this is not what made someone else’s home comfortable for us. Hilary and Derrek are by far two of the most pleasant people I have ever met. Their personalities are so easy going and kind. The home is inviting and not overwhelming and they were open to answer whatever we asked. In addition to personal baths in each room (they offered a tour of all the rooms when I had a few questions) most rooms had gas stoves and no room overlapped another so any noise was very minimal.
Also the kitchen is open so you get to watch Derrek create the most amazing three course breakfast each morning. He makes it seem easy but I wouldn’t wish an open kitchen on anyone.
While still their we were so impressed we inquired about the distance to the fair grounds and we are contemplating going back for Fryeburg Fair with our 6 year old son and they had a ton of information to give us and options for staying their so we would be comfortable with him.
My only complaint that I have is I hope someday to have them offer a dinner option so we may get the option to try more of Derrek’s amazing creations.
