May is always a busy time. The weather is generally good and its a scramble to get the house tidied up after the winter. This year we’ve been blessed by more good days than bad and although I can’t say I feel on top of the list of projects to be done, we’ve accomplished a lot already. Three of our rooms have lovely new tiled bathroom floors, the porch and garage have been completely repainted together with some of the siding.
One of the best things though is that I’ve had help in the garden – my Mum! She usually visits around this time and brings her gardening gear with her and is quite content to tackle the weeds and plant the flower boxes. Despite battling the bugs, we got quite a lot done and managed to tidy things enough for my gardener Kristen to come in later this week and plant most of the beds. It hasn’t all been work though and Mum and I did manage to get out and do other things in and around Fryeburg and North Conway, while she was here. Something else we managed to do was go to the Peary Museum at Bowdoin College, which I’ll tell you about in another post. So into June – another high season approaches fast.
